“I found Susie by asking for a recommendation for a local sculptor on Facebook. My dog Hector was almost 17 years old and declining in health so I decided to have a sculpture made of him. Susie came to meet Hector to take photos of him at different angles and to see his character. During the clay modelling process I made a couple of visits to Susie’s studio to see the progress of the sculpture and then when the sculpture was then ready to go to the foundry Susie very kindly took it over to the bronze foundry in Kent.
Hector was immortalised into bronze and as the sculpture was hollow I decided that some of his ashes would be put inside, when the time came. She carefully put the ashes into a small voile bag and placed them inside the bronze and sealed the base with green felt.
The whole process of finding Susie, inviting her over to meet Hector and then her being able to create a bronze statue of him, with his ashes inside, has been wonderful.”

“I commissioned Susie to create a mini sculpture of our Norfolk Terrier, Nelson for a Christmas present for my husband. Nelson and I really enjoyed the whole process – from the initial measuring and photography to the consultations and the final result. It is a wonderful likeness and Susie has really captured his pose as he sits with one of his legs slightly bent and one sticking out. It was a great surprise on Christmas Day for my husband and we are really pleased with sculpture.”

“Late last year our much loved dog died and as she had been so much part of our family life we commissioned a bronze sculpture to remember her by. Susie could only work from photographs and as the details of black dogs are not easy to see in photos it was a particularly difficult task. Nevertheless, Susie completely captured not only the appearance but also the spirit of our Maisie. Throughout the process we were consulted and were able to give our views. The result was absolutely wonderful and will always be treasured. Thank you SO much Susie!”

We commissioned Susie to make a bronze 2/3 life size sculpture of our Labradoodle called Jess. From commissioning to delivery took a few months. It included agreeing the size and favoured pose, providing photographs, visits to see the work (and give feedback) as it progressed (from the initial maquettes through to the final stage prior to casting) and finally deciding the final colouring of the bronze. The whole process was very inclusive.
On delivery we could not believe how beautiful and lifelike our new Jess looked; we were stunned. Being proud owners of two of Susie’s delightful works (we also bought a ceramic Hare) we can unreservedly commend her to other potential commissioners.”
